Thanksgiving Eve

Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, afternoon naps, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. These are a few of our favorite things in November, but being up before the sun, waiting in the chilly air for hours, and packed streets isn’t how we want to spend our turkey day morning.

Quickly becoming the best un-kept secret, the parade actually starts the day before when all of the balloons are getting inflated. AND...it’s an event in and of itself with block parties and events.

Why do we like the ‘night before Thanksgiving’? First off, sleep! You can see all of the floats at our own pace (takes about 45 mins to walk the full space) and we get a sneak peak at the new balloons.

Need to knows: Goes from 3-10pm; entrance is on 79th Street and Columbus; expect crowds so we still advise to meet up with friends prior and avoid bringing strollers.

Insider tips: Best time to go is around 4:30pm when the balloons really start to take shape.

Happy Thanksgiving!
